My Students

Just as a builder needs the right tools to construct a home, my students need the right tools to show their learning.

Each year I am inspired by the diverse student population we have.

Our students come from different heritages and backgrounds, but they all have the same need for proper supplies to learn new concepts and show their thinking. With the economic times being what they are, students, teachers, and even schools are finding it difficult to come up with the extra money to meet all of the needs in the classroom.

My Project

There is something special about starting the school year off with new supplies. It helps to establish an expectation that we all work hard and do our best. Quality pencils that do not break easily, erasers that do the job, and graph paper to show math thinking are among the materials that I am requesting for my students.

Having the basic tools for learning will make such a difference in the learning experiences of students.

They will know that we care about them, and that school and learning are important in our society. With the page protectors, they will learn that we need to take care of the resources that we have and be responsible classroom citizens for future students that come to room 202.
