Help me give my students materials like a photo booth to set up that will help them interact through planning and prepping schoolwide events like dances and helping students advance their overall well-being in the light of COVID.
The students at my school are courageous and resilient. Many of them had to uproot their lives in other countries to come to Hawaii for a better life. Then COVID hit. Making friends was so difficult for them throughout the pandemic. As we have returned to ‘normal’ somewhat, we still struggle to plan more meaningful activities for all students.
As Student Council Leaders, the kids themselves plan and carry out several activities and service projects for the entire school and community throughout the school year.
These materials will help them interact through planning and promoting whole- school events without having to fundraise for all the supplies to do it. It allows them to have a sense of normalcy.
The student council will work together to make each event safe, fun, memorable and creative while trying to involve as many students K-8 as possible. By providing students with things like a blow up photo booth (which student leaders setup, run & clean up) as well as decorations and treats it will
help support my students’ social, emotional, and mental well-being as well as the impacts of interrupted learning as a result of the pandemic and bring back activities even BETTER than before.
These supplies will engage kids in learning and allow them to express themselves in different ways. These items will help support students’ social, emotional and mental well-being as well as impacting positively the interrupted learning as a result of the pandemic and helping us to get back to active, intelligent, social activities where ALL students can be involved.
