This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are imaginative, resilient, and eager to learn! I teach literacy, math, science, health, and social studies to a class of twenty-four enthusiastic second graders. My future second graders and I miss being in the classroom! In the past, their favorite time of day was reading aloud, writing, and math.
Even through these tough times we are always looking for inventive ways to fund our learning adventures.
This is my fourteenth year of teaching. I can't wait to make this the best year for my students by creating a better learning environment for them to enjoy!
My Project
The materials from this project will help my future second graders experience an amazing classroom library. The books in this project are multicultural and celebrate the various cultures of the students.
By bringing multicultural literacy to our classroom library we will create cultural bonds within our growing community.
Some books are also targeted towards their interests as well. By tapping into my students' interests they will be motivated to read. There are various items in this project that will help my students take these books home to share with families.
