I teach students math & science subjects. I have a multicultural class, in a Title I city school. Many of my students are from a low economic background and live in poverty ,and have experienced hardships during the pandemic. Many of my students are NOT on a fifth grade level for math. My levels range from second to fourth grade levels. Special education students are mainstreamed in my classroom. Therefore, they learn math & science best through visual, tactile and kinesthetic learning styles to grasp concepts and applications in the scope and sequence requirements for our district.
My Project
The supplies will assist my students by providing the necessary resources needed to complete daily activities we often take for granted. As a 5th math grade teacher, I am excited to get back to hands-on lessons to help them understand common core. As always keeping safety in mind with the sanitizing wipes ,each student will also have their own personal clear case to store their supplies. The colored folders help us to easily identify and stay organized with completed work portfolios inside our desk. The white boards/expo markers/erasers,allows me to clearly, and quickly view ,and check for understanding. We will be able to color code ,and identify fraction & geometry concepts visually with our supply of crayons and colored pencils . Having a classroom full of supplies ready to go , allows everyone to feel welcome to normalcy, alleviating the financial burden to parents from this pandemic. Our class would appreciate your help and support, so that we can get back and be better than ever !
