This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a Title I school, where over 80% of the population are on free or reduced-price lunch, my students deal with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I continue to strive to provide them with opportunities, skills, or strategies they might not get else where. They are bright and positive through all the hardships and are stronger than I could ever imagine them being.

The students love to learn and are constantly on the move.

Their high energy and active brains bring excitement and joy every day. They handle life experiences that even many adults have not had to deal with, yet they still come in every day eager to learn.

My Project

My students will be able to have school supplies to start our year. These supplies will be available as back ups for those who can't afford some of the materials on the school supply lists. The supplies will also serve the instant we run out which is usually pretty quick on things like glue sticks and working dry erase markers. Some of the materials are replacing materials that over the last 10 years have been broken and need replacing like the clipboards. My students will be able to get started off on a great note with the some basic school supplies that make our day a little bit easier.
