Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
No one wants to start the school year behind. My students need additional help with the back-to-school basics to make this year great. Pencils, erasers, and folders are tools my students will use daily. Technology has been a great bonus these past few years. However, the little ones still need practice with writing and physical paper.
Learning is fun, but a little messy, requiring tissues and wipes to keep our little ones as safe as possible throughout the day.
When students come into my room and sit in a group, I want them to have access to their own folders and supplies (pencils, erasers, scissors, paper). In the group, they will be able to use construction paper and tools to express their feeling and emotions. We can then discuss coping and learning skills that can be used at home. At the end of the month, I want to mail parents/guardians "school to home" postcards with stamps to bridge the connection with families.
This project will supply my kids with the necessary basics needed to have a successful school start.
