My students need a set of biographies in order to learn how to complete a research project. “Bach to the Future- Composer Biographies” will allow students to learn about famous composers. We will partner with our music teacher to complete this project.
Having these biographies available will help my students learn research skills and become familiar with famous musicians and their pieces of music.
My students live in a Wii World. They do not have the necessary skill to research using books and articles. Many students copy and paste information they find on the Internet. It is important to be able to open a book and research information.
My Project
“Bach to the Future-Biographies” will provide students with an opportunity to study relevant and meaningful musicians. Students will be able to present that information in a fun and interesting way. Students will not only do the research, they will choose a presentation method (sculpture, rap, drawing, graphic organizer, PowerPoint, etc.) and present for five minutes to their classmates. This will allow them to express their creativity and practice their presentation skills. Students in grade 5 will participate (approximately 200 students).
This project is an area of special need in my building because the resources are not available to complete this project.
“Bach to the Future- Composer Biographies” will give my class some of the biographies needed to do a classroom research project. Your help will ensure that my students take an active role in the study of music while gaining valuable research and presentation skills. These resources will also be used by my future students.
