This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Living in the Northeast in the winter limits my students outdoor time during the school day. When the temperature outside is too cold, indoor recess is a time when children need to play. Board games, cards, and appropriate social interaction during those times are needed.

Playing board games improves cognitive function by teaching critical thinking and problem solving.

But also creates connections with peers and staff.

By having a variety of fun indoor activities for my students to play and learn from increases their social skills and confidence to interact with each other as well as making friends in the process.
