My Students

My students have had to be so flexible and resilient during COVID. This is their third year affected by the pandemic. Although we have worked hard, we have also missed out on valuable opportunities including the ability to talk and read with peers. I have found that reading with others is invaluable. My students are yearning for this opportunity. Therefore, this project will help us!

My Project

These resources are going to help us grow our classroom library. We have a goal to do dyad reading. This allows students to read with a partner out loud, daily. This will help the reading gaps that resulted from COVID-19 and school closure. I chose titles that we only have one copy of and I chose some book sets. I chose books that students have shown to interest in. I also added some non-book items that will help organize our library including a color printer, some plastic book totes and a bean bag. All of these will be used in our classroom to organize books by author and level. The bean bag is a popular place to read with a friend.
