This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in the middle of the city, in an industrial district. Our high poverty, Title I school is hidden behind many manufacturing buildings and has very few places for the students to run and play. 100% of the students in our school receive free breakfast and lunch each day.
We are a STEM Magnet School, with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Science.
We are creating an environment that encourages unique learning, creativity, independence, and cooperative learning.
My Project
Our STEM school is working on including more technology within the classroom. My students already use a lot of fun hands-on manipulatives every day, and I would like to begin having them use more that incorporates our tablets. We have some amazing Osmos in our digital learning lab, but could use more kindergarten-friendly Osmos to use daily as a center.
The Osmos we are requesting are for forming alphabet letters and drawing pictures to improve hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
My students can improve these skills and still use technology by using these awesome Osmo Kits! They will be so excited to have these in our classroom!
