My Students

Our middle school is comprised of approximately 1,100 sixth, seventh, and eighth graders. We are a highest poverty school district. Despite all of our challenges, our students are eager to learn.

Students at our school LOVE to read!

They are constantly reading all genres of literature, especially nonfiction. These avid readers want to learn more about their world-people, places, events, sports. They want to know more about how things work. They are so proud to discuss and share what they are reading and learning.

My Project

Our library is in the process of updating all nonfiction selections for the first time since the school opened over twenty years ago. The students are in desperate need of an up-to-date nonfiction section in the school library.

Due to recent cuts to the education budget in our state, we need YOUR help in obtaining these titles!

Students are required to read more nonfiction and informational texts than ever before. Being able to offer new and multiple materials in our library encourages the students to visit more often and read more books. Please help us offer these students as much inspiration, enjoyment, and success as possible!
