My Students

Do you remember the first time you caught a fly ball? Several of my students have never been a part of a baseball team. They would enjoy the challenge of catching baseballs with a glove.

My students come from all kinds of backgrounds.

They have some difficult situations that they are facing but still come to school with an amazing spirit of happiness. My students do not yet realize their potential and I strive everyday to help them realize what they are capable of. I think when they have success in gym class that boosts their self-esteem.

My Project

I believe in subject integration into every class. When we use these baseball gloves my students will also be learning about the history of baseball. We will be doing partner work and various games like baseball during the year. My students will love getting to use brand new equipment that we do not usually get.

For some of my kids this my be the first time anyone took the effort to show them how to use a baseball glove.

I think that it will enhance their view of sports when they know they can have success playing baseball. I want them to be exposed to all kinds of sports and games. Baseball is an American classic and every child should have the chance to get to experience it.
