Awesome COOLing Towels to Stay COOL!

Help me give my students cooling towels to assist them in staying cool during Special Olympic sporting events (bowling, horseshoes, running long jump, standing long jump, softball throw, running, and bocce).

My Students

My students are special education students in the 6-8th grades. Their disabilities range anywhere from ADHD/ADD to nonverbal and wheelchair bound. My students love to come to school and enjoy being around their peers and teachers. They love to learn new things and look forward to each new lesson.

My school is in a low-income area and many students are on free or reduced-price​ lunches.

Our middle school is one of three in the community and is the smallest.

My Project

The cooling towels will benefit the athletes and partners who participate in the Special Olympic events. The athletes participate in ten to twelve events per year, partners participate in four to six events per year and most of them are in the heat.

Having the cooling towels will help the athletes and partners stay cool while they are participating in their events.

Special Olympic events are for students who do not get the opportunity to participate in other school athletic programs. This program provides them the opportunity to SHINE and show they can do a sport also. My students look forward to participating in each event.
