My Students
I teach almost 400 kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade students in Kansas. 35% of my students receive a free or reduced-price breakfast and/or lunch. There are also many special education students and ELL students (English language learners). I try to find new and interesting ways to help my students learn using music and other subject areas
My Project
We are currently meeting in person four days a week and virtually on Wednessday. Please help me get the supplies I need to continue to share with my kids a love music while being sure they are safe and stay healthy. I love teaching music lessons that are centered around books. I read or sing a book and then turn it into music lessons and activities. Kids love learning new and old music. This project will help me get the materials I need to teach a love of music and a love of literacy.
Students will be leaving music class singing songs like I Love the Mountains, Bringing Home A Baby Bumblebee, and Halloween Hustle as well as participate in making body percussion, playing games, dancing, and playing instruments with the new songs we will learn. I am so excited to teach this new music to my students and share the love and joy I have for music and literacy.
