This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These graphic novels such as “My Hero Academia” and “Basketball” will continue to enhance the books that students can check out from the library. My library is a place that my students really enjoy coming into to find new books, especially manga and graphic novels. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind as the most requested books to add to the library. I have also asked students what types of books they would enjoy reading and graphic novels and manga are by far their choice of books to read. Students will be able to choose these books like “My Hero Academia” which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of new graphic novel books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.
They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading of graphic novels and manga and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
