My Project
My students work hard, both in the class and in the repair shop. They provide near-free repairs to members of the community, including the special projects beneficiaries of a local church outreach program. They compete at the state level against other automotive repair class students. In a market such as Memphis, they fill the needs of repair facilities across the city, be they dealerships, retail repair shops, or privately owned businesses. They will have a job skill that will provide well for their families. My students begin by learning basic shop operations and how to communicate with customers. Having color paperwork and training materials will serve to greatly improve their learning of shop operations.
