My Project
The resources in this project will help to keep my students engaged and participate in hands-on learning! I teach self-contained autistic support and my students are so special to me. They deserve the world and the opportunity for the best educational experience. Each of my students has their own individual strengths and needs and the resources we have listed on this project help each student in various ways!
We use markers, sponges, and the kinetic sand on a daily basis.
Many of our activities are laminated so they can be utilized multiple times. The markers are a great resources for writing on laminated sheets. We have found the sponges to be the most effective tool for erasing expo marker off of our laminated sheets. Each morning we work on our daily calendar activities. I have a larger calendar wall with resources while the students have an individual laminated folder that mirrors our class calendar wall. My students use their markers and sponges each morning on their individual laminated calendars, so these resources are truly valuable in our class.
The kinetic sand is loved by all of my students! I make individual sand bins for my students and allow them to access the sand during sensory breaks, independent time, peer play, and when they may be come over stimulated. The children love the texture of the sand and it is something they are drawn to. The sand is both enjoyable and therapeutic for my students.
These resources help students to engage and participate in lessons and enjoy their time in school. Students will be prepared and equipped for each day they are in school!
