My students need an iPad and an iPad case in our classroom. As an educator, I like to incorporate technology during instruction. This allows my multi-sensory learners to have an opportunity to learn in a different way.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a special education teacher. I work with children who are on the Autism Spectrum Disorder. My group of kids is unique and special in many different ways. Before I begin talking about my kids, I would like to introduce my school. The school neighborhood isn't exactly kid-friendly but we as educators try our best to keep our students as safe as can be. Luckily, we have an amazing support staff. Without our administrators, we wouldn't be the team that we are! My students are part of the autism program our school.
Each child is characterized by difficulties in behavior, social interaction, communication and sensory sensitivities.
These challenges that they experience lead to levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. All three students are unique and their needs are reflected differently. It is my job as their teacher to understand their individual needs and to be able to make appropriate accommodations for each student to help them become successful.
My Project
During instructional time, I came to realize technology plays a big role with ASD students. iPads are a great tool for education and communication. iPads have customized options which allow it to be tailored to each child and their specific need. My students LOVE technology but there's just something about the iPad that draws attraction just a little more than the rest.
Autistic children are full of imagery rather than speaking words.
By using an iPad, my students can create sentences or even stories using the given features. This allows my students to better communicate with me and the instructional aides that are in the classroom.
Since the iPad is mobile, my students can take this communication tool wherever they go.
