This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach an Autism Special Education classroom in a Title I school located in a low-income community. Due to these factors, my school and classroom receive limited funds. This makes it challenging to create an environment in which my students enjoy playing and learning, and in which they have everything they need.

I have spent my own money to purchase many items, but it has become impossible to maintain and continue to purchase everything I need for my classroom.

This school year I have gained several students with substantial needs, requiring more resources. I have a wonderful classroom of 12 students, with a large variety of needs.

By receiving these resources, I feel that I would really be able to help them grow emotionally, physically, and academically, as they have so much potential.
