This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a special education kindergarten class for students with autism. I have two classroom aide positions, but no people to fill the positions. Most days I teach the class by myself. Students with autism need individualized attention and learning plans which an iPad station would provide.

I teach a special education kindergarten class for students with autism in a Title 1 school in a school district outside of San Francisco.

I have all boys who are very excited about learning. My boys LOVE to earn time on the computer and love technology. It motivates them to try something they would not usually or teaches them in a way different then the way that I would.

My Project

My students will use the materials I am requesting in many different ways. The iPad with protective case, will be used as a reward so that the boys can earn time playing their favorite games. It will also be used for individualized educational activities such as Starfall or more specific communication activities. These iPad activities will help me to support my students when I do not have the manpower to provide them with the individualized attention they need.

Donations to this project will make a world of difference in my classroom.

It will allow my students to receive more attention and help me make sure that all of my students are working on their specific learning goals.
