Autism Class in Desperate Need

My students need kidney tables for small groups to adequately meet social, emotional, and educational needs.

My Students

My students have Autism with different levels of abilities. They are willing to learn and get excited when they master a new skill. Most are working to overcome sensory processing disorders that hamper their ability to socialize and process environmental stimuli.

This is a new class at this school in a rural county with little funding.

As a consequence, we do not have adequate tables for instruction. We were only offered student desks and one rectangular table which we use for snacks and cooking. We are in desperate need of two kidney tables for small group instruction.

My Project

Working in a rural county with little funding leads teachers to spend enormous amounts of their precious salary on the students!

It is my great love for special needs students and especially Autism that leads me to my request.

Funding is so tight that our classroom only has one rectangular table and several student desks. These options are not always appropriate for students with Autism whose needs are very diverse. We have students working at several different cognitive levels and need individualized instruction in order to make progress socially, emotionally, and educationally.
