My students need an Apple iPad as well as the Apple Care Protection Plan. That is it; one Apple iPad and they will be able to explore the world through their fingertips.

My Students
I am tearing up thinking of the possibilities that can come from this project. My students looking at the world on an Apple iPad. My class has one computer. This would be so special to my students plus the other students with autism in the school. This iPad will be shared with 6 classes.
I cannot imagine asking my school for an Apple iPad because it is hard enough to get pencils and paper for the students.
Children with autism do not learn like most students in a public general education school. My students are non-verbal but in other classes there are some verbal students.
We are a low economy school with a need for technology. My students may be low functioning but most are stimulated by the computer but cannot use a mouse. Even some of the higher functioning students cannot use a mouse. This touch screen computer with millions of appropriate autism apps is just what we are looking for.
My Project
Six classes of different functioning levels of autism have one computer in each room to look at. Most of the teachers are scared to let the students use the computer because we know there is not one to replace the broken one. The iPad has come out with so many apps for students especially ones on the spectrum. There are so many lessons and uses for the iPad. 36 students will be able to enjoy going on and exploring the Internet or using the symbols to speak. There are many different uses for the iPad in each of the classrooms.

I have no problem spending my own money on my students for needs but this is one thing I cannot afford on my own. Please donate to our school and help us get an Apple iPad for our students with autism.
