This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project is for the special education students in my room. The resources such as the calming pup and fidget toys will allow them to understand themselves and to use these tools to relax and feel secure while in school. These resources are hands-on and students will use them when they need to calm down. The books are for students to understand what autism is and how we can support our friends at school.

During small group, students will use the books to connect with the illustrations and understand that we are all different with different needs.

The manipulatives will support our student to express their feelings and to feel a sense of independence. We want all of our students to be successful.
