This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As we celebrated our first Author Celebration with Kindergarten and 1st grade scholars, the 2nd grade scholars felt a sense of pride, accomplishment, and ownership of their perseverance and hard work.

30 students who are in the underserved community of Los Angeles sit with an audience and shake the hands of other scholars, parents, and teachers who are eager to read their masterpiece.

They are radiant, glowing, excited, and genuinely happy that they are holding, in their hands, their very own book, written and illustrated by them. These students deserve more celebratory moments like this.

My Project

With the ipad, printer, and binding machine, the scholars will be able to take more ownership of what they research and write about. They will be able to practice their writing skills, better their grammar, lift up their self esteem, and grow as scholars when they write more books that interest them. These materials will provide access to their imaginations and creativity.

Your help with this project will impact the scholars in even more ways than any money can provide.

They will walk with confidence and be able to have something to show for themselves, their own books! Help make this a reality for these students!
