This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The 2 novels, Me llamo Maria Isabel and El color de mis palabras, will bring inspiration to our class and will encourage students to write their own stories. It is important to read and understand the stories of students who do not speak English. These stories bring awareness to finding their voice and their impact. Most of my students are English speakers and are learning Spanish, they are emergent bilinguals.
The blank books are for students to write and illustrate their own stories.
Students will share their books and provide feedback. At the end of 4th grade, my bilingual students will have a story to share. They will be Spanish authors!
