My Students
Our high school serves a smaller population of around 500 students in the urban area next to Milwaukee. The majority of our students, approximately 50%, are considered low income. Even more than that use the open enrollment system to attend our school, which proves that we are a destination school, but it means that we get less funding according to the state formulas.
Even though our school is small, we still strive to provide meaningful arts education for all of our students, including classes and clubs that promote participation in music and theater.
Music programs and theater productions are very costly and we need help to provide resources for our students to be successful.
My Project
Our students are hoping to be able to put on a school play in the midst of the COVID regulations. While we hope to have a live audience we know that many will want or need to watch the performance from home. We may also need to be able to do a performance that is only streamed.
This audio equipment will enable us to connect devices in new ways that will help us support performing in multiple media.
Students on our light and sound crew will be able to connect devices using these cables and converters. Actors will be able to use monitors and microphones. The end result will be that we have all sound running through a system that can then be streamed online for people to watch on their own devices.
