My Students

"We can close the gap and improve what happens in the classroom by using educational technology that is the same high quality everywhere." - Major Owens

How do we prepare our kids for the future?

We need to educate them about the world around them because they will be the ones leading our world in years to come.

I have a variety of student reading abilities and they are all coming from a variety of cultural backgrounds and socio-economic statuses. My school and classroom is a place that encourages students to think critically and be problem solvers without the fear of taking a risk and making a mistake.

My Project

My students are veracious readers. The more text students have access to read, the more they learn and the grow. By having audio books, students can listen to a larger variety of text anytime. This allows students of all reading levels to enjoy text on their level even if they are unable to read it all on their own.

Audio books increase word exposure, improves vocabulary, builds background knowledge, reduces working-memory deficits, removes anxiety, increases comprehension, develops grade level content knowledge, and gives students educational independence.

With audio books, students gain confidence to become successful readers and are actively engaged in their own learning!
