This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am the School Counselor at a diverse, low-income elementary school located in Philadelphia. The pandemic has been a very difficult time for my students and their families.
My students and their families have been virtually learning for almost a year now!
Can you imagine that?!
My Project
The families and students at my school have been learning virtually for about one year now. Our teachers, counselors and staff have been working incredibly hard to ensure that the virtual classroom remains an engaging community, however, this has been difficult!
Many families have been working very hard to keep their young children engaged, online and present each school day.
However, many of our families work and are adjusting to this new virtual world as well.
Our school would like to reward each child who maintains 100% attendance each week by mailing home a gift card! The gift card would mean that we appreciate them and want them to continue the hard work!
