Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are enthusiastic and bright digital learners with a wide range of interests and learning styles. Although they are adapting quickly to distance learning, they miss the interaction with their friends and the tactile engagement provided by the classroom and flexible PBL group work. Our school is a racially diverse STEAM Magnet with seventy percent of the students receiving free lunch services, prior to the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.
My Project
My students will utilize these various building and art supplies to design original engineering projects in a variety of subjects and curriculum. Students will be able to physically create models to build and enhance their knowledge of scientific concepts through art and engineering design, explore key concepts and vocabulary in close reading text, and even explore mathematical concepts such as fractions. In this time of distance learning, my students need and will greatly benefit from these and other kit materials that allow them to complete standards based at home projects.
