This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach kindergarten in a suburban area. Some of my students have access to supplies for distance learning while many do not. My students are full of energy and eager to learn. They love manipulatives and being hands on.
Last year ended in such a scary and unprecedented way.
None of us were prepared for what was to come. But with creativity my students and I overcame many obstacles. This school year I'd like to be more prepared for the challenges to come. I want to help my students in every way I can!
My Project
My distance learning boxes is for the tools my students will need to learn from home. These boxes will be filled with materials to provide hands on math engagement, giving them the experiences they need for a bright future.
In Kindergarten learning is very play based and I'm afraid without these learning boxes many concepts will not be acquired during this difficult year.
Transitioning from Kinder to First is a jump and having these foundations provided during play will hopefully be what my students need to successfully learn these skills from home.
