This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I'm a special education teacher and I teach a PCC class that celebrates inclusion. My students spend their day with their typically developing peers. My classroom is about building skills to get included. The work we do in this classroom is accessing general education content in different ways. Many of my students are English language learners and have a range of communication disabilities and delays in language. In my class, we believe in positive behavior support and try our best to meet the needs of each individual child. We celebrate little wins together each day. The majority of my students come from low-income households, so your donations make a huge difference in their learning. Due to school closures my students are in need of at-home learning materials.
My Project
Will you help me give my students the materials they need to be ready to learn in 2021—no matter what changes the school year brings? As we continue the new year with remote learning, my students are in need of materials to learn at home. This kit comes with a backpack featuring must-have items for learning at home, including activities that reinforce key skills like counting, sorting and identifying letters. From tactile number cards and counting links to fun foam letters, a draw-and-write journal and more. With this kit available I will be sure that my students will all have the same supplies as they follow along in video lessons. It also provide my students with hands-on learning resources to engage with every day at home. The kit also comes with step-by-step directions and an activity calendar in both English and Spanish to help family members support student learning at home. We appreciate your support.
