My Students
We are so excited to enter into the world of animals. We are filled with intrigue about their habitats. Help eager young minds enter into the animal kingdom!!
We are a class of 29 first graders located in a poor urban area of New York City.
My students are always eager to learn. No matter what the topic may be they express a genuine desire to know as much as possible. We do not always have the resources we need.
My Project
We would be so engaged in our upcoming unit on animals and their habitats if we had some hands on materials. The students in our class are diverse learners. With the animal picture cards and pocket chart I would better be able to target the needs of my visual learners. With the activity tub I would better be able to target the needs of my hands on learners. Children need to be stimulated in different ways in order to learn and really retain information.

When children are provided with stimulating activities that provide them with the opportunities for quality discussion, they truly begin to love learning. With these materials we will really fully enjoy entering into the animal kingdom!
