My Project
Dungeons and Dragons club is a place where all students are welcomed and encouraged to be their authentic selves. Middle school can be challenging on all levels and students need a place where they feel like they belong.
Many of the students in DnD club struggle with social skills and this is one of the few times they will spend time with other students who have similar interests.
It is so important to provide these opportunities for them so that they feel part of a community and not isolate themselves.
Our group is very neurodiverse and many of the students have limited food likes. The snacks I've requested will keep them from being hungry as they get home after 5:30 pm. We also need a few more supplies such as dry erase markers for our battle maps and dungeon master screens for game play. Most of the students have never played with accessories such as maps and dungeon master screens, which help them keep track of important information about their campaigns.
