Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Having a tablet will allow me to have many different apps for the many different needs of my students. For instance, there are many different apps that are useful for individuals on the Autism Spectrum such as Choice Works. A majority of my students respond positively to technology. Having the tablet will allow my students to enjoy doing something they like while still learning useful skills that can help build independence and social/emotional skills.
Assistive technology can provide a huge advantage for individuals with special needs.
Unlike paper and pencil, a tablet can read the text out loud to a student with reading delays. Unlike paper and pencil, a tablet can show videos of how to pick up toys for a student who is struggling with completing tasks independently. The options are limitless!
