Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class consists of thirteen, loving children. All of the students in my class are students with autism; five of the students are English language learners. My students struggle with attending to activities for long periods of time; that's why technology is such an essential part of learning in my classroom. A set of classroom tablets would be beneficial to the students because they will be provided with an endless amount of resources through the use of technology. The students work well with technology and I have noticed that with the use of technology, the students tend to remain on task for longer periods of time.
My Project
Through the use of technology with touch screen, Fire tablets my students will be able to communicate their needs and engage in learning activities. Most of the students that I teach are non-verbal, so communicating is difficult for them. Through the use of touch screen tablets, the students will be able to express his or her needs clearly without becoming frustrated because no one understands. The use of touchscreen tablets will also benefit the students that have fine motor issues and cannot write. They will be able to express what they have learned through the use of the tablets as well. This technology will help my class as a whole.
