Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Resilient, determined, and passionate are words I would use to describe our students. Our students come from a variety of races and cultures, most living in economically disadvantaged households. That alone though does not dampen their spirit and love for learning. Most strive to rise above the norm and become the first in their family to go to college.

Our students come to school eager, ready to learn and truly want to be here.

They will work as hard as they can while balancing a multitude of other responsibilities, whether it is extra-curricular or working after school to help support their family. I truly believe we have the best students who appreciate everything we are able to do for them at school.

My Project

A large component of AP and IB tests require students to draw complicated diagrams of cycles, cells, and chemical processes. Students need to be provided a variety of ways to practice and perfect these skills. These supplies will allow students to practice their diagramming skills while supporting visual and kinesthetic learning.

Simply drawing a picture on a piece of paper doesn't require higher order thinking.

These supplies like markers will allow my students to actually draw diagrams on the lab tables or whiteboards on a much larger scale. This process will create a collaborative learning environment so that students can learn from each other and will allow me to provide real-time input into their results.
