This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting the registration fee to access the virtual package for the annual ATIA (Assistive Technology Industry Association) conference. This package will include over 100 sessions that can be accessed at my convenience, which will ensure that I won't miss any of the sessions. In addition, the conference will include 2 days of live-stream sessions.
The comprehensive agenda covers a variety of topics that will expand my skill set in assessing communication function, providing ongoing communication support to my students, and developing AAC competency among my colleagues.
I am eager to learn new skills and techniques to support my students' communication skills and their use of AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) tools for improved functional communication. With this knowledge, I will also be able to expand the AAC competency skills of my colleagues by sharing what I learned during the conference. The knowledge obtained from this professional development will help support a large number of students across our district.
