Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are hard-working students whose families care a lot about their success. They come from low socio-economic backgrounds, with almost every student qualifying for free or reduced lunch. Over 90 percent are Hispanic, and many of them will be the first person in their family to graduate from college.
I work with Special Needs students who are in general population classes.
I co-teach Chemistry and Physics. I love that they are striving to be with their peers and succeed in a normal environment. Sometimes it's challenging to keep them motivated or encouraged. The effort they give is rewarding to me. When they are successful in their efforts and "Get it!", it is even more rewarding. Their eyes light up and they are elated. What makes them special is that they are fighting to normalize themselves and be accepted like anyone else. I get to be a part of that!
My Project
This monitor in our classroom will update the technology we have. When linked to the Apple TV, it will display the screens from the iPad for everyone to see. Also, when it's connected to my computer, we will be able to use the TV to project PowerPoint presentations, graphic organizers, videos, photos, and much more to assist in academic subjects. Students will also be able to project their screens to the external display from their chrome books. It would be an awesome addition to the classroom.
Students will be more engaged when interacting with technology using this display.
Please consider supporting this project. It wouldn't be possible without supporters like you!
