Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our world is becoming more advanced in technology every day. My students will be able to benefit from some of these advancements by utilizing the tools available to help create more personalized instruction in order for them to better meet their maximum potential.
I have the pleasure of working with a group of general education first graders in California.
We have 21 active students in our class, that are excited and interested in learning. We also have four other boys that join us for language arts and mathematics from the Autism program on campus. Our school is a title one school so unfortunately a lot of my students are unable to use a computer at home.
My Project
I am hoping to be able to get an I-Pad to help assess my students. Our current language arts program includes weekly and monthly progress monitoring on the advancement or struggles the children are having. This information will help me create lessons and groups that will focus on utilizing instruction time to the maximum benefit for the children. The information will be stored and can be retrieved at home or at school to help me create specific lessons and help everyone of my students become a confident reader.
I am reaching out to you because my students do not have the means to surround themselves in the important components of early literacy.
The I-pad will allow me to maximized the time I have with them by focusing on what each student needs to become successful. I also think it is important to utilize technology and have them become part of that process. These boys and girls will be the future business and world leaders some day. Won't you help me find the next Bill Gates?
