My Students
My students enjoy working with their hands and creating with a variety of materials. Not all of them can show what they know with paper and pencil assessments. Many love to draw and/or create with with their hands. Making new friends and sharing their ideas with them are important skills they practice each day.
I have many learners who relate to others in a non traditional way.
It would be wonderful for them to have a creative outlet to share their knowledge using some simple classroom supplies.
My Project
Painting, drawing with various mediums and sculpting with modeling clay are all hands on activities appropriate for Kindergarten children. Students will be given a task, such as sharing facts about a favorite animal and be asked to represent their answer using the materials of their choice.
Creating and communicating through art will help my students engage and can challenge them in learning new concepts as they work together through trial and error.
Many are more comfortable sharing this way. This avenue will assist my students in developing a growth mindset that will serve them well as they continue their educational experience.
