My Students

Welcome to Ms. S.'s Stampede! I teach at an amazing Title I school in Phoenix, Arizona. I am so lucky to have an amazing, smart, energetic group of 30 first graders. My students are eager to learn new things and succeed. We take pride in all of our hard work and we have fun while doing it!

My students come from many different backgrounds, cultures, and neighborhoods!

Our classroom is a place where students can work together to solve problems, make new friends and enjoy school! We have established a strong first-grade family and a safe place where all are welcome, excited to learn, try new things, and work hard to achieve their goals. We engage in lots of hands-on, engaging, and cooperative learning activities to keep us eager and motivated to learn. Every day is a new adventure with Ms. S.'s Stampede and I love watching them grow while we laugh, learn, and have fun together!

My Project

Young students are tested frequently to check on their progress of reading skills. This can be stressful and time consuming for both the teacher and students. Testing an individual student should be a quick check to measure a child's academic or social emotional progress. ESGI is an assessment software designed to save time by giving digital assessments with real-time results.

ESGI will give me the appropriate tools to improve my instruction to meet the needs of all my students.

With ESGI, my students will receive individualized flashcards for sight words, letter names, letter sounds and words to practice. Parents will receive customized letters with his/her student's progress. My students will also be able to set goals in their reading skills and work towards those goals with ease. It will be a great addition to our classroom because it will save us time to assess and more time to differentiate instruction and learning!
