My Project
My students are aspiring leaders who are in need of new books and tools for their learning.
We are a Title I classroom with 22 students from different cultural, racial, and linguistic backgrounds!
Our classroom library is lacking books that are written by BIPOC voices and/or have BIPOC characters. I believe it's very important to have materials that reflect the identities of my students. This is also applicable to the band-aids. My classroom lacks skin-colored band-aids for my students. We have to find band-aids for my students if we run out. We are also in need of materials that will be used for their learning. For example, the number lines will be reused each lesson as they learn how to add and subtract. Many of my students thrive in hands-on and visual learning. As for the other supplies like laminating pouches, clipboard organizers, and more listed on my wish list, each of them will be used to maintain an organized and long-lasting learning environment. They will help my lesson materials to be preserved and reusable so they can reach my future classroom students who will come after this year's class. I am also missing basic supplies like a tape dispenser and cardstock that will be used for printing and putting up needed materials and anchor charts in the classroom.
