This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a teacher of American Sign Language at Santee Education Complex. Students are being taught a variety of vocablary so they can express themselves visually through this beautiful language they are learning. Having a clear consistant signing space reduces distraction and allows the students to stay focused and be comfortable creating their facial expressions and movement correctly when signing their assignments. I love that my students make a strong effort. Many of them show up shy, but by the time they are done with ASL they have a new way of communicating and they are much more comfortable and no longer shy. The Distraction-free backdrop will support our learning and students will comfortably be able to create and sign their videos.
