My Project

Teaching kindergarten children about the Lunar New Year is important because it offers a wonderful opportunity to explore themes of new beginnings, renewal, and family traditions. The practice of cleaning before the new year symbolizes clearing and making room for good fortune. The soap and wipes will help us do just that, not to mention also keep germs away.

My children are always so excited to experience traditions, hear stories, and explore new cultures while learning how it is celebrated!

The requested art projects will allow children to create their own colorful representations of winter holidays and Lunar New Year symbols. For example, the crowns will be altered to have the zodiac symbols and hearts. Incorporating toys, like snake puppets, stickers, and the traditional Chinese yoyo's will help children learn so much more while having unique experiences. This hands-on approach encourages respect for different cultures and helps children understand the importance of tradition, family, and hope for the future.
