Arts, Smarts: We Need Supplies!

My students need these items, so that I can introduce different art mediums into the classroom. My students do not have an art class, therefore; the instructions I give are all that they receive.

My Students

This year I will have a wide range of students. Most of my students are Native American. Some that are eager to learn, others that will need that extra push to succeed. The children seem to work really well together and encourage each other.

I believe that all students can and will learn regardless of ethnicity.

They just need to be nurtured and encourage to succeed. Some just need to know that they are loved and can achieve their goals as long as they don't quit and never give up.

My Project

The art supplies that I have select will be used to introduce a few different art mediums. I will use the colored chalk on the black construction paper, which will allow the brightness of the color chalk to stand out. Then I will spray these drawings with hairspray to preserve the picture.

I have chosen a few different painting manipulative, such as; brushes and paint droppers to provide different painting opportunities.

The students will use these tools to experiment with and developing a painting style unique themselves.

The different types of paper and other items I have chosen will be used in all aspects of creating a variety of art projects. I believe that students need to have access to variety of supplies to fully appreciate art.
