This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love opportunities to use their multiple intelligences in many different ways. My students light up when they can combine their passions and interests across classes. These supplies will help students integrate art with science and English to create a diorama of a setting of their story and a prototype of their space product invention.
In seventh grade, they have two projects that combine art with the fields of English and Science!
The first one, the Landscape Diorama, requires students to write a survival narrative, research the climate of their setting, and build a diorama of the setting of their narrative to show off to our community on the first Expo Night of the year! Students will use the supplies from this project to create a diorama that showcases the setting and environmental features of the survival story they wrote. In the second project, the Mars Project, students research the climate and conditions of space, write an argumentative essay pitching an original product to be used in space. Students will use the supplies from this project to create a replica of their proposed project to present to their classmates in a Shark Tank pitch, as well as to our community on the second Expo Night of the year.
The supplies from this project will help our students' imaginations become reality! Integrating arts with English and science helps students make cross-discipline connections. These supplies will allow students' extraordinary creations and research
