My Project
My students are curious, creative, and always eager to learn. As we dive into Black History Month, I want to give them the opportunity to connect with history in a meaningful and artistic way. Through this project, my students will research and write biographies about influential Black historical figures, then bring their stories to life using oil pastels on black construction paper.
The black construction paper and oil pastels will allow my students to create vibrant, expressive portraits that reflect the strength and resilience of the individuals they study.
This art project will help them deepen their understanding of history while developing their writing and artistic skills. By integrating art with writing, students will not only learn about historical figures but also express their knowledge creatively, making the learning experience more engaging and memorable.
Additionally, as the school year winds down, I want to keep my students motivated and encourage positive behavior with small prizes for our class prize box. These incentives help students stay engaged, work hard, and support one another in a positive classroom environment.
