My students need to be able to accurately measure and cut with 3 T-Squares. They also need Mod Podge for their creative artwork, and a drying rack for their work.
When students have quality materials, they rise to the occasion and make quality work. My students aspire to great things. I want to be able to meet the needs of my awesome students in the art room.
My students travel from every corner of our city to learn at our wonderful academic magnet high school.
The students are diverse and get along wonderfully. They support each other and appreciate each student's individuality. This school is unique. Teaching these students art is amazing. They are so smart and engaged. I would like to be able to provide quality materials for them in my art room.
My Project
I have requested T-Squares so my students can accurately measure and cut paper. I have also requested Mod Podge for their creative artwork, and a drying rack too. Clotheslines are not a good solution for hanging wet paintings made by serious high school students. Wet media should dry flat. If I can provide a drying rack this year, I am certain the results will pay off!
We will be cutting heavy paper and fabrics in class too. T-squares will enable students to increase cutting accuracy. My students weave baskets from recycled cardboard from cereal boxes. Once finished, these baskets are functional and dynamic.
Mod Podge is a must for crafts and collage. I cannot skimp on these materials, I must acquire them for my classroom. Every year I spend hundreds of dollars out of pocket for supplies for my students. I am hoping to get some help from you and others who care.
This project means having important resources in the art room.
My students will benefit because their work will improve due to proper materials to create and dry their work. Something so simple as a drying rack can be a dramatic improvement in the learning environment.
