My Project
We are seeking funding to purchase an Aerogarden system, a seed starting kit, and a variety of seeds to begin growing plants that will be sold in a fundraiser next spring. This project will involve students in every step of the process — from planting the seeds to nurturing them, observing their growth, and eventually organizing and managing the sale of the plants. By integrating this into our curriculum, students will not only gain practical gardening skills but will also learn valuable lessons about entrepreneurship, teamwork, and giving back to their school community.
The raised funds will go directly to the ARTS grant fund to support art supplies, field trips, guest artists, and other creative learning opportunities that inspire students to explore their artistic talents.
What Will the Funds Be Used For?
Aerogarden System – This indoor garden system will provide an easy-to-manage, year-round growing environment for a variety of plants. It’s an ideal solution for growing herbs, flowers, and small vegetables that can be sold to help fund raise for the arts. The kit could also be used in my food classes.
Seed Starting Kit – This kit will provide everything we need to start a variety of seeds. Students will gain hands-on experience with the seed-starting process and learn about the science of germination and plant growth.
Seeds – A selection of easy-to-grow, fast-growing seeds (such as herbs, flowers, and vegetables) that can be nurtured in the Aerogarden system. These herb plants will be sold as part of the fundraiser.
The ARTS program is an essential part of our students' education, and this fundraiser will help ensure that the program continues to thrive. Creative outlets are essential for students’ emotional and intellectual growth, and the funds raised will directly benefit their opportunities in the arts.
