Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All my students come from Spanish speaking families, I teach them in Spanish while building their English vocabulary and fluency. The majority of my students come from immigrant families.

The neighborhood is mostly Latino and with very close knit, caring, hard working families.

The school is a Title I school and 100% of the students qualify for free lunch.

I enjoy working there and have worked in the same school for many years. I get students that are in college that come to visit and are always grateful that I was their teacher.

My Project

I would like to give my students different color Play-Doh so they can use their hands to develop fine motor skills while having fun and using their imagination to create things. With the construction paper they can do math projects cutting shapes and also for art lessons. The glue would be used to stick the cut construction paper on to an other piece of paper or their journals. The origami paper is easier to handle and it has a different feel than cutting construction paper. Its great for smaller art projects and assignments.
